Firm Values

Our firm's values are key components of our success and are based on three driving principles:

  • To deliver best-in-class service
  • To provide a great place to work
  • To give back to the community

Best-in-Class Service

We recognize the importance of providing our clients with superior client service. For us, this means not just providing the best possible legal advice, but also being responsive to our clients' needs, understanding their legal and business issues and concerns and serving as trusted advisors. We are committed to providing our clients with not just good service, but great service, and this commitment is recognized by every attorney and staff member. Annual client satisfaction surveys, sophisticated client retention programs and internal training help us to reinforce this fundamental element of our firm culture.

A Great Place to Work

We are committed to creating a work environment that fosters entrepreneurship, teamwork and personal growth. Our attorneys are provided with a well-structured orientation and integration process, in-house and external continuing legal education programs, and a full-time staff of professionals dedicated to the career objectives and development needs of the firm’s lawyers. For example, our Litigation and Bankruptcy Departments have implemented a comprehensive training program that prepares associates for the real-life work assignments they will likely encounter at various stages of their careers, with each successive module adding features that mirror the life cycle of a litigation matter. In addition, we believe that a diversity of perspectives and experiences ultimately makes Lowenstein a better and stronger firm. Our award-winning, innovative policies and programs help us recruit, retain and promote professionals from diverse social, economic, cultural and personal backgrounds. We reinforce our commitment at all levels, from campus recruiting and lateral outreach to skill-building workshops and individual career development planning initiatives and sponsorships.

Giving Back

At Lowenstein Sandler, community service and client service go hand in hand. Our dedication to community and pro bono service has been a hallmark of the firm since its inception almost 50 years ago. In 2008, the firm established the Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest, reaffirming and expanding its commitment to addressing significant social issues and providing community assistance. Led by Kenneth Zimmerman, Member of the Firm and Chair of its Pro Bono Program, the Center's efforts focus on children and education, immigration, criminal justice, civil and human rights, the arts, and sustainable and community development.

Lowenstein Sandler also founded STRIDES®—Advancing Women in Business, an initiative that promotes visibility, leadership opportunities and quality peer interaction for women throughout the business community. The organization regularly hosts free events that address issues surrounding the advancement of women in the workplace.

In support of its commitment to environmental sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint, the firm is a member of the EPA's Green Power Partnership and has pledged to purchase a percentage of its electricity from a green power source. Lowenstein was also one of the first law firms in the country to join the ABA-EPA challenge, which encourages law offices to take specific steps to conserve energy and resources.
